Description:
From the Rodriguez family’s Finca Trapiche located in Samaipata, Bolivia, this lot consists entirely of the classic Bourbon variety. The climate in Samaipata is more arid than Caranavi (the primary coffee growing region of Bolivia), with more dramatic temperature swings between day and night. This leads to a slower cherry maturation time, denser seeds, and higher sugar content in the fruit. This comes through with the dried fruit sweetness and coating butterscotch body of this washed lot. As a smaller coffee producing country, the opportunity to explore terroir and regional flavour differences in Bolivia is the stuff of coffee nerd dreams.
