Description: We’ve been buying from Agricafé, a Bolivia-based exporter by the Rodriguez family, since 2020. Each year we bring in a couple coffees from their “Sol de La Mañana” program. Structured like a “coffee university”, neighbouring producers are taken through a 7-year program aimed at building resilient and thriving farms. Last Ocober, I spent a couple weeks in Bolivia visiting farms, seeing the Agricafé processing mills, and cupping dozens and dozens of coffees. I didn’t get to meet David Mamani when I visited in October, but his coffee was a standout on the cupping table. From the community of Uchumachi (we’ve offered a few community blends from here in the past), David’s coffee offers up a lush and juicy body, backed by sweet and tart fruit notes (think currants).
